Mô tả công việc

Our vision is to transform VPB into a data led organization by providing the data platform and data products to provide ability to consistently analyze, report and query information to make timely decisions using standardized Enterprise Data & Analytics applications capabilities; enable data and analytics driven culture at VPB through stable and flexible architecture that supports sourcing of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data & tools; meet future regulatory, strategic and operational data management requirements by enhancing the current data management capabilities.

As the Data Architect, he/she will use his/her specialist skills and knowledge to research, propose, consult, and implement technological solutions, planning, optimize requirements, and develop features for data systems (Data Lake/Data Warehouse/Data Integration...), administrative service platforms, and data analysis of VPBank and its Ecosystem. Directly participate in supporting solution design (Solution architecture), POC/Pilot features for data & analytics areas, as well as supporting data architecture for strategic projects that require data analysis from descriptive, diagnostic to predictive, prescriptive.

Directly support in completing the following tasks:

1a. Develop action plans related to data architecture, and related strategic initiatives.

1b. Build and approve operating procedures, accompanying professional documentation for data reporting service products

Take on the main role in executing:

2a. Propose target data architecture for specific requirements (CR/Projects) - Logical/Physical design phase

2b. Coordinate with internal teams in the EDA block as well as relevant units during the implementation of data-related initiatives (CR/Projects) - Deployment phase

Indirectly support in completing the following tasks:

2c. Propose target data architecture standards for VPBank (Enterprise Data Architecture) - Conceptual design phase

2d. Regularly/Ad-hoc consult with the leadership team on technology trends related to Data for selecting suitable solutions for VPBank.

Data Architect thường ít phải OT thường xuyên như developer, nhưng sẽ có giai đoạn dồn dập khi: (1) Có regulatory deadline ( Basel reporting, NHNN audit), (2) Major project go-live, (3) Crisis incidents. So với các ngân hàng nhà nước, VPBank linh hoạt hơn về WFH policy, dress code. Tuy nhiên, đổi lại là expectations cao hơn về performance và deliverables. Gợi ý: hỏi thẳng HR về on-call expectation và average working hours trong interview.

Lộ trình thăng tiến từ Data Architect JG 09 tại VPBank như thế nào? Bao lâu có thể lên Head?

Từ JG 09 Data Architect, lộ trình thăng tiến thường là: (1) JG 10-11 Senior Data Architect/Principal Architect - 2-3 năm, (2) JG 12-13 Head of Data Architecture - thêm 2-3 năm nữa. Tổng cộng khoảng 4-6 năm từ khi vào JG 09. Tuy nhiên, thời gian phụ thuộc vào: (1) Performance và visible contributions, (2) Executive sponsorship, (3) Có position available (Head level chỉ có 1-2 người). Tips để accelerate: (a) Deliver visible wins (architecture được adopt rộng rãi), (b) Build relationships với executives, (c) Volunteer cho strategic projects, (d) Mentor team members để prove leadership.

Kỹ năng nào là quan trọng nhất cho Data Architect ở cấp senior như JG 09?

Với JG 09 - cấp senior Data Architect, thứ tự ưu tiên kỹ năng: (1) Strategic thinking (quan trọng nhất) - ability to align data architecture với business strategy, translate business needs thành technical solutions. (2) Stakeholder communication -presenting to executives, influencing decisions, handling conflicts. (3) Technical breadth - không cần code giỏi như junior, nhưng phải understand trade-offs của mọi technology choice. (4) Team leadership - hiring, developing, performance management. (5) Technical depth - vẫn cần đủ sâu để make right decisions, nhưng không phải deep dive vào code. Soft skills thực sự quyết định ở cấp này.

Làm Data Architect ở VPBank được 2 năm rồi. Điểm tốt: tech stack hiện đại, team trẻ và năng động, compensation competitive. Điểm trừ: deadline khá gấp, đôi khi phải sacrifice quality vì speed. Nhưng overall recommend nếu bạn muốn học hỏi và grow nhanh.

Lương JG 09 ở VPBank thì thỏa thuận, nhưng mình negotiat được 65 triệu + bonus. Key là phải có cloud cert và show được track record về team management. Không có cert thì họ offer thấp hơn nhiều. Recommend lấy AWS hoặc Azure cert trước khi apply.

Warning cho ai muốn apply: JG 09 có quản lý team, nhưng team size có thể chỉ 3-5 người thôi. Đừng kỳ vọng manage một big team. Và cũng đừng expect promote nhanh vì headcount cho senior roles khá limited. Nhưng bù lại, compensation và learning opportunity rất tốt.
