Giới từ trong TOEIC: Tại sao quan trọng?
Câu hỏi về giới từ (prepositions) chiếm khoảng 15-20% câu hỏi TOEIC Part 5. Đây là dạng câu hỏi dựa vào collocations (cụm từ cố định) — không có quy tắc ngữ pháp rõ ràng mà phải thuộc lòng. Tin tốt là TOEIC lặp đi lặp lại một số cụm giới từ nhất định, nên việc học 50 cụm phổ biến nhất sẽ giúp bạn xử lý được phần lớn câu hỏi.
Nhóm 1: Giới từ chỉ thời gian (Time Prepositions)

- Học theo cụm — đừng học giới từ riêng lẻ, hãy học cả cụm từ (responsible for, not responsible of)
- Đọc nhiều email tiếng Anh — TOEIC Part 6-7 có nhiều email dùng cụm giới từ chuẩn
- Flashcard — viết cụm từ một mặt, nghĩa + ví dụ mặt kia
- Loại trừ trong bài thi — nếu không chắc, loại đáp án "nghe lạ" trước

Ba cụm giới từ xuất hiện nhiều nhất trong TOEIC Part 5 là: in accordance with (phù hợp với), prior to (trước khi), và in addition to (ngoài ra). Ngoài ra, nhóm responsible for / eligible for / subject to cũng rất phổ biến.
Làm sao phân biệt in, on, at khi chỉ thời gian?
Quy tắc đơn giản: at dùng cho thời điểm cụ thể (at 3 PM, at noon), on dùng cho ngày (on Monday, on March 5), in dùng cho khoảng thời gian dài hơn (in January, in 2026, in the morning). TOEIC thường hỏi dạng này trong ngữ cảnh lịch hẹn, deadline.

Agree with + người (I agree with you), agree to + hành động/điều kiện (agree to the terms), agree on + chủ đề/vấn đề (agree on a date). Đây là "bẫy" kinh điển của TOEIC Part 5.
